Walker (crackmonkeyjr) wrote in jurisprudentia,

Richard Posner

After a year and a half at law school, one of my favorite judges out there is Richard Posner. I have yet to encounter an opinion of his that I don't agree with, nor have I encountered any of his non-judicial writings that don't make quite a bit of sense.

The thing that confuses me is that I have recently heard him described as a conservative judge and found out that he was appointed by Reagan. Considering that I am fairly liberal, I find it odd that my favorite judge would be a conservative Reagan appointee.

Would any liberals out there like to explain why he's actually a nasty conservative who I should dislike or any conservatives out there like to argue that he's actually just a RINO that Reagan never would have appointed had he known what he really stood for?
